Drafts of the "I am expert..." essay were taken through the peer evaluation process today.
We looked at a mentor text, "Chocolate Equals Love," in order to analyze the diction, imagery, syntax, and organizational used by the author, Diane Ackerman.
Drafts were turned in at the end of class. These will be graded as drafts and returned so revisions can be made.
Yesterday, during our Poetry Swim, we dove into a poem by William Faulkner called
"After Fifty Years" and then looked for symbolism in other poems.
Next week, during Poetry Swim, you will have the opportunity to do research on a poet whose works you have been looking at recently.
Believe it or not, the end of the first six weeks in right around the corner. Please turn in the pre-course reading dialectical journal if you have not already done so.
